Crib Bedding...why do you have to be SO ugly!

Is it necessary to have characters on everything a child owns? Especially when your baby has no idea what they are! Why is it so hard finding anything we like for the baby's nursery? Just because we are having a girl doesn't mean we have to decorate in pinks and purples with ballerinas and bears all over. Am I venting...yes, but I don't think I am alone on this. There has to be other alternatives to making the nursery what we have envisioned...right? Or do I have to make my own, which is what this is coming to? Please give me your advise and help me figure out why this process has to be SO difficult!

amen. i wanted to die when i was looking for bedding. what style do you like? i have looked at a million websites if you need any suggestions. you are lucky though, girls are a million times easier than boys. boys have nothing but stupid trucks and alphabet letters!

Couldn't agree more. Luckily I found just a stripe patchwork set at Pottery Barn that works well. I didn't want any sort of theme in the baby's room. Everything is SO tacky. Good luck with the little girl bedding!!!

Hey Erica,
I went to the OC Swapmeet last weekend and they have a place there where you pick out your own pattern and they make it for you. There swatches were really cute and they had a ALOT to choose from.

Scared me there for a second when I saw that nursey picture, I thought that was what you guys were aiming for. Phewwww. Try dwellstudio.com for really cool contemporary bedding...I got Tessa's bedding there. In my opinion, that sight is the best for bedding, period. Why look elsewhere, you'll go back to it.

true. It's kind of like a Loehmann's--you really have to sift to find the good stuff. Try Dwell, Layla Grace and RosenberryRooms.com. I got a house inc. bumper and just mixed the rest,

Is this Ryan or Erica's post? I would be willing to bet that it is Ryan! Ha! Thanks for the new post though, really. I was tired of being jealous about your new car everytime I checked your blog.

I know..there is some cheesy bedding out there...my favorite websites for nursery bedding are: laylagrace, distinctivenurseries.com, serenaandlily.com, and restorationhardware just started carrying crib bedding and its really cute and not that expensive. Good luck...I had the hardest time too. And finally just broke down and ordered the one i wanted...good luck! Let me know what you find..

It was posted from me (Erica). So HA! Thanks for all your ideas. I am very interested in this swapmeet thing. I have looked at Dwell and keep hoping something else will come out because I just don't love the ones they have right now. I am going to check out these other sites though. I knew I could get good ideas from you!

restoration hardware baby has some really cute normal stuff! No characters whatsoever:) Some of the bedding makes me want a little girl... just so I can decorate her room!

Dwell is the place that came to my mind. Might want to try nurserycouture.net, or areahome.com. I have a feeling I'll be in the same perdicament when I'm in your situation. Good Luck!

Dwell. Thanks to Alana, Lennon's bedding didn't suck. Target actually carries it now. Good luck and don't give in.
